Jaïr Tchong (Nijmegen, 1973) used to live and work as journalist (a.o. Het Parool and De Groene Amsterdammer), independent cultural grant advisor (a.o. Cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague, Creative Industries Fund NL Rotterdam and Province North Brabant), afrolatin DJ (a.o. Bimhuis, Paradiso, RASA Utrecht) and promotor (Melkweg, Tolhuistuin) in Amsterdam. He also worked as project manager world music for Music Center the Netherlands and press coordinator for IDFA.

In december 2019 he moved to Oostende, to work as music programmer for art center KAAP (Brugge/Oostende). For KAAP he programmed a.o. KAAP Oostende, KAAP Brugge, AMOK, Push the Button and Jazz Brugge (9th edition, 2023).

Since october 1st, 2024, he works as artistic coordinator & promotor jazz/global for Ha Concerts Gent, house for adventure in music.
